It's difficult to explain without spoiling the story but one thing I can say is this is a complete game with a satisfying ending - you don't have to play both games to get the full picture. This game is actually part 1 of a two part duology Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is the sequel which (kind of) continues the story of this game.
